The Tributes are all the teenagers that play in the Hunger Games. Their names were either reaped or they volunteered to enter the games. There are lots of different circumstances in which the Tributes killed each other. Some more acceptable than others.
But why do we seem to accept their killings more than we do President Snow? It's because they have no choice. They have to kill. If they don't, they die. And if they die, they don't go home. Some of the Tributes have loved ones waiting back at home to whom they made a promise. They kill to make that promise come true. We hope that their killing is justified because the decision to kill was thrust upon them and expected from President Snow and the people of the Capitol. Also, their killing wasn't seen as murder, but as a part of a game and necessary for their survival. |
